Listen before stepping in
Ask what matters to the person, notice what they can do for themselves and respect their privacy when helping.
Get in touch OUR APPROACH
Harmony was started in Fredericton by front-line workers, and we still work the way they did: alongside the person, at their pace, and in line with their care plan. Here is what that looks like day to day.

THE HARMONY APPROACH
Learning to prepare a meal. Getting through the morning routine. Having someone listen when a day has been difficult. These are some of the moments our youth, family and home support workers help with.
We take time to understand what a person can do, where they need a hand and what matters to them. We work at the goals in their care plan, with patience, encouragement and respect for their choices.
HOW WE WORK
These are the habits our workers bring into every home, whether they are helping a teenager plan a budget or helping an adult get ready for the day.
Ask what matters to the person, notice what they can do for themselves and respect their privacy when helping.
Follow the care plan, explain what is happening and keep boundaries clear, including when a day becomes difficult.
Record the support provided, share updates through agreed channels and raise concerns with the people responsible for care.
GETTING STARTED
Most support starts with a phone call or a short enquiry. Nothing personal needs to be shared until we have agreed how to keep it secure.
Start with the type of help, the general location and when support is needed. Keep personal case details for an agreed secure channel.
Harmony management confirms whether we can provide the requested support and discusses staff availability and timing.
Before work begins, we agree on the activities, schedule, responsibilities and how everyone involved will stay in touch.
ASK ABOUT SUPPORT
Ask about the help available, where we work and how to get started.
